Genshin Impact Deskmat Ideas: 12 Character Themes That Actually Work

Genshin has more printable character art than almost any other game, which is a blessing and a problem. A deskmat is a 900×400mm horizontal canvas, and not every character composition fits that shape. Here's what works.

    The "fits the canvas" rule

A deskmat is wide and short. Vertical character splash art shrinks awkwardly. The art styles that work best:

    • Horizontal scenes (a character against a landscape).
    • Group shots with characters side-by-side.
    • Pattern fills (sigils, constellations, element symbols).

    12 themes that print well

    1. Raiden Shogun — Inazuma temple scene. Purple gradient backgrounds print incredibly cleanly on sublimation cloth.
    2. Hu Tao — flame motif with character offset. Orange/black contrast is forgiving across pad sizes.
    3. Zhongli — Liyue Harbor skyline. Wide landscape art is the ideal deskmat fit.
    4. Ganyu — winter Liyue plains. Soft blues + cream feel premium on cloth.
    5. Yelan — green/black water aesthetic. Looks especially good with stitched green edge.
    6. Nahida — Sumeru Akademiya pattern fill. Pattern art covers the full 900mm without dead space.
    7. Kazuha — autumn maple scene. Reds and yellows pop on a 4mm cloth.
    8. Furina — Fontaine fountain composition. White + blue is bright but high contrast.
    9. Element symbol grid. All 7 element sigils in a horizontal row. Great minimal pick.
    10. Wanderer/Scaramouche — purple wind sigils. Dark moody mats look great with RGB keyboards on top.
    11. Childe — Snezhnaya frost scene. Cool tones, very LAN-photogenic.
    12. Traveler + Paimon — Mondstadt horizon. Group composition fills the canvas naturally.

    Print considerations for Genshin art

Genshin's official art uses a lot of soft gradients and lighting. That's perfect for sublimation — gradients survive better in dye than in inkjet or heat transfer. The detail loss you might worry about (e.g. Hu Tao's eye highlights) holds up at 900mm because the original art is rendered at very high resolution.

What doesn't survive: tiny text. Element names, character titles, or watermark text under ~12px on the print get fuzzy. Strip text from your reference if you can.

    Custom vs pre-made

If your favorite character isn't in the catalog, every Genshin theme above can be done as a custom mousepad. Upload the official art or a fan piece you have permission to use, and the print runs the same way.

    Sizing recommendation

900×400mm is the sweet spot for Genshin art. It's wide enough to keep landscape compositions readable and tall enough that a character portrait isn't squashed. 800×300mm works but starts cutting off vertical elements like Raiden's spear.
